At Routine Path, your privacy isn't just a policy—it's our core principle. Unlike most apps, we've built Routine Path with a privacy-first, local-first architecture. Your personal data never leaves your device.

Data Storage and Processing

Local Data Storage

All your data is stored exclusively on your device using SQLite database:

• Habit definitions and configurations
• Daily completion records
• Task lists and to-dos
• Personal notes and achievements
• App preferences and settings

This data is NEVER transmitted to our servers or any third-party servers.

No Account Required

Routine Path does not require account creation, email addresses, phone numbers, or any personally identifiable information. You can use the full app completely anonymously.

Analytics and Crash Reporting

Firebase Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the app. Data collected includes:

• App usage events (e.g., "habit created," "timer started")
• Device type and operating system version
• App version and crashes
• General geographic region (country/city level)

Important: Analytics data is completely anonymized. We cannot and do not track individual users. No personally identifiable information is ever collected.

Firebase Crashlytics

To improve app stability, we use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports. These reports include technical information about crashes but are automatically scrubbed of any personal data.

Firebase Performance Monitoring

We monitor app performance metrics (startup time, screen load times) to ensure a smooth experience. This data is aggregated and anonymized.

Permissions

Routine Path requests the following permissions:

Notifications

Purpose: Send habit reminders and alarms
Optional: You can disable notifications entirely in app settings

Alarm/Full-Screen Intent (Android)

Purpose: Display full-screen alarms for critical habit reminders
Optional: Required only if you use alarm features

Background Processing

Purpose: Deliver notifications and update widgets even when app is closed
Data: All processing happens locally on your device

Storage Access

Purpose: Export/import backup files
Data: You control where backups are saved

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone. Period.

Third-Party Services

The only third-party service we use is Firebase (Google):

• Firebase Analytics: Anonymized usage data only
• Firebase Crashlytics: Crash reports with PII automatically scrubbed
• Firebase Performance: Aggregate performance metrics
• Firebase App Check: Protects against abuse (no data collection)

RevenueCat (In-App Purchases)

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat processes:

• Purchase transactions (handled through Apple/Google)
• Subscription status
• Anonymous user identifier for purchase restoration

No Advertising Networks

Routine Path is completely ad-free. We don't use advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, or any advertising networks. Your data is never monetized.

Data Export and Deletion

Export Your Data

You can export all your data at any time in JSON format through the app settings. This gives you complete ownership and portability of your information.

Delete Your Data

Simply uninstall the app to delete all local data. Since we don't store any data on servers, uninstalling completely removes all your information. You can also clear data through your device's app settings.

Security Measures

• Local encryption: Sensitive preferences encrypted using platform-secure storage
• Input validation: All user inputs sanitized to prevent injection attacks
• No web vulnerabilities: Pure local app with no web APIs exposing data
• App Check: Firebase App Check prevents abuse and unauthorized access

Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Routine Path does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app is designed to be safe for all ages due to its local-first, privacy-first architecture.

International Users (GDPR Compliance)

Routine Path is GDPR-compliant by design. Since no personal data leaves your device and no accounts are created, there's no data for us to process, store, or share.

Your GDPR Rights

• Right to access: Your data is always accessible through the app and export feature
• Right to portability: Export your data in standard JSON format
• Right to deletion: Uninstall the app or clear app data
• Right to rectification: Edit your data directly in the app

Voice Assistant Integration

When using voice commands (Siri, Google Assistant, Bixby), voice processing happens through the respective platform (Apple, Google, Samsung). Routine Path only receives the text command after platform processing. We never record or store voice data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through app updates. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of changes.
